In 2015, Mahout Lifestyle launched a competition to commission a new design for their contemporary rug collection. My design was selected as a winning entry, produced as a finished textile, and added to their online range.
The design was inspired by the vibrancy of Indian weddings, alongside the shapes and colours of spring. The competition was judged by representatives from Mahout Lifestyle, Homes & Gardens magazine and KLC School of Design.

Comments from the judges:
“I was struck with the overall professionalism of the entries, as well as the impressive and imaginative mood boards. The winning designs featured patterns that were of-the-moment, as well as colours that are right on trend.”
Ali Brown, Decorating Editor, Homes & Gardens Magazine
“The winners were chosen for their considered designs, beautiful concepts and subtle tones, these simple differences set them aside from the other entries. It was wonderful to see the emotional journey each designer had taken throughout the process.”
Diana McKnight, Director of Studies, KLC
